Not all subscriptions are cloud-based
When you hear the word "subscription", you may think of online or cloud services like Netflix, Disney+, or Spotify.
However, with a Trados Freelance subscription, you get full access to the complete desktop application for Trados Studio. After you sign up, you can download and install the desktop software directly on your Windows PC or laptop and work locally as usual. Cloud-based features are available if you'd like to use them, but they're entirely optional – you remain in full control of how and where you work.

How does a Trados Freelance subscription work?
- Your subscription gives you ongoing access to the Trados Studio desktop application. Once installed and you've activated your license online, you can translate in the desktop or in the browser.
- You will always be able to download and install the latest version, with feature updates and service releases included as part of your subscription.
- You decide if, when and how you use any cloud functionality.
What are the benefits of a Trados Freelance subscription?
- Your subscription is a flexible way to manage access to Trados Studio.
- You can pay monthly or annually, and change plans as your workload changes, within the terms of your subscription.
- It's perfect for both occasional translation projects and longer-term client work.
