About Us

The International Association of Translators and Writers in Medicine and Life Sciences (Tremédica) is a professional association of translators, editors, interpreters and writers specializing in biomedicine. Its primary objectives include:

• Advancing the quality of Spanish medical language in all its forms, recognizing it as a vital tool for disseminating scientific knowledge. 
• Promoting recognition for professionals in medical translation, proofreading, interpretation, and writing within the realm of medicine and related sciences. 
• Providing guidance to members on every aspect of professional practice in translation, editing, proofreading, writing, and interpretation in medicine and related sciences. 
• Cultivating relationships with other similar professional associations to foster the exchange of ideas, expertise, resources, and any other valuable contributions to the Association´s mission.

The Association offers a comprehensive range of resources on terminology, language, and regulatory matters. Among them is Panace@, an open-access journal focused on language, medicine, and translation. Recognized in major indexes, Panace@ has received prestigious accolades, including the 1st ESLETRA Award and the 2009 Medes Award from the Lilly Foundation.
