Universitas LIA is the transformation of Sekolah Tinggi Bahasa Asing LIA (STBA LIA), which was established on September 9, 1999, under the auspices of the LIA Foundation. Originally founded as an institution focused on language education, Universitas LIA has evolved to meet the growing demand for comprehensive education encompassing a wide range of disciplines, including science, technology, and business. This transformation reflects our ongoing commitment to adapt to the ever-changing demands of the global landscape.

As part of our language education specialization, Universitas LIA offers a Translation Concentration beginning in the sixth semester. This program equips students with practical and theoretical skills essential for professional translation. The curriculum includes courses in Subtitling, Introduction to Translation Theories, Literary Translation, and Non-Fiction Text Translation, providing a balanced foundation in both academic and industry-relevant competencies.
