About us:

Founded in 2007 in Türkiye, Mardin Artuklu University (MAU) is located in the city of Mardin, one of the ancient settlements reflecting the diverse and rich cultural heritage of Mesopotamia. Working devotedly to offer knowledge of academy to the people, society and city, Mardin Artuklu University aims to become one of the meeting points of open-minded and entrepreneurial individuals, who have developed an awareness of social responsibility and are open to multi-disciplinary and inter-disciplinary approaches. Translation and Interpreting Department, within the Mardin Artuklu University, Faculty of Letters, has started to accept students as of 2019-2020 Fall Semester. 

Since its establishment the Department of Translation and Interpreting has been training translators to meet the employment needs of various public and private sector organizations (banks, universities, tourism and foreign trade companies, etc.) in both regional and national levels.

Courses offered:

The courses in the department revolve around the knowledge of culture, language and text competence, as well as theory and method in translation, as well as the interaction with other fields such as history, sociology and psychology, literature and linguistics.
