About us:

SSML –“Scuola Superiore per Mediatori Linguistici UniverMantova” (Department of Modern languages for Translation and Interpreting), in the city of Mantova in Italy, accredited by the Ministry of Education, Universities and Research to activate 3-year higher educational courses for language mediators and to award a First-level academic diploma equivalent to a Bachelor’s degree in “Linguistic Mediation Science”.

Our partnership with UNIMORE (a university based in Modena and Reggio Emilia), with a long-standing tradition (founded in 1175), guarantees a high-quality educational offering and a rigorous selection of faculty.

SSML “Gonzaga” offers three different programs – Languages for Mediation and Translation (LAMET), Languages for International Relations (LALIR), and Languages for Tourism Management (LALIT)– that provide the necessary preparation to face the challenges of contemporary society. In a world where globalization has reduced distances between people who speak different languages and live in far-off places, our goal is to equip students with the linguistic and intercultural skills that enable them to become "competent global communicators."

Furthermore, it prepares its graduates to manage new technologies to support the work of translators, interpreters, and experts in international relations and tourism management. It also emphasise the indispensable value of critical thinking, which allows students to adopt the most suitable solutions for effective interaction and communication in global and intercultural contexts.
