Over the past three months, we’ve been hard at work delivering some exciting advancements to Trados. Highlights include the release of our innovative Generative Subtitles feature, enhanced terminology verification in the online editor and the launch of a new hosting location for Trados in Canada, enhancing flexibility and performance.
To keep you in the loop, here’s a quick round-up of the key updates from last quarter. Best of all, these updates are automatically available to our customers as soon as they’re released. For more in-depth details on all the improvements we've made to Trados, please visit the RWS Community.
Boost efficiency and quality with enhanced translation management functionality
As key innovators, we continually introduce new AI capabilities to the Trados platform to keep our users at the forefront of AI technology. Our latest AI capability is Generative Subtitles – designed to streamline video localization in the Trados platform.
Using an LLM, it automatically transcribes and localizes videos by leveraging your trusted linguistic resources. You can then preview the file in real-time using our in-context preview feature for maximum quality control. Moreover, Generative Subtitles seamlessly integrates into your existing Trados workflows, using established connectors, reporting, and automation capabilities – streamlining processes and simplifying your tech stack. By enabling video localization directly within the Trados platform, Generative Subtitles takes you one step closer to achieving the ultimate goal: translating everything.

Streamline project creation and keep them running smoothly with translation collaboration improvements
Customer portal enhancements: Our customer portal provides a simple and efficient platform for requestors to create, track and retrieve their projects. The latest refinements offer the ability to perform mid-project updates, including in projects that have already been approved by the customer. In today’s dynamic market, updates are often needed on the fly – even mid-project. Our mid-project update feature streamlines this process, keeping you agile in response to rapidly changing evolving requirements.
Project management user experience improvements: Trados is designed with everyone in mind, offering role-specific interfaces tailored to your needs. For project managers who spend countless hours in the tool, we’ve introduced a host of new features to streamline workflows and make their lives easier. For example, we have now introduced a “Show Resources” button in the project list. This allows users to view associated linguistic resources in a tree structure, improving organization and providing direct access to the linguistic resources used for that project.

Speed up translation processes with new translation productivity features
Over the last few months, we’ve made several improvements to boost translation productivity for our users:
Pseudo Translation App: We’ve launched a new Pseudo Translation App for our cloud offerings. This tool enables users to generate a simulated translation of text from the source language into the target language before translation begins, providing a preview of how the final translated document will appear. By doing so, it helps identify potential layout or display issues early in the process, thereby saving time and resources.

Terminology Verification for online editor: Previously exclusive to the desktop application of Trados Studio, Terminology Verification has now been extended to the online editor as well. This powerful feature ensures translations adhere to termbase-approved terminology while avoiding forbidden terms, enhancing translation quality and consistency What’s more, it can now also be incorporated into the automated QA Check workflow step, streamlining the quality assurance process even further.
Smart Help Just Got Smarter: Our Smart Help feature has taken another leap forward! Smart Help, available within the Trados browser environment, leverages our secure Large Language Model (LLM) to provide intelligent assistance at the click of a button. Originally trained on our product documentation, it has now been enhanced to draw answers from our Knowledge Base and community forums, making it a more comprehensive support tool than ever before. This refinement is part of our ongoing commitment to continuously evolve our AI capabilities for our users.
