If I choose Canada as my hosting location, will any of my data leave the country?

While we are rolling out this new hosting location, there may be some instances where your data will leave Canada, including when using: 

  • Language Weaver Cloud – you will need to separately select whether you would like to connect to the EU or US instance of Language Weaver Cloud. 
  • The Content Analyzer available in Trados Enterprise – your data will leave Canada, however it will remain with the Trados estate. You can however choose not to use this feature. 
  • RWS-hosted LLMs with the AI Essentials add-on – when using Generative Translation or Smart Review your data will leave Canada, however it will remain with the Trados estate. 
  • RWS-hosted LLMs with the AI Multimedia package – when performing Generative Transcription and Generative Subtitle Translation your data will leave Canada, however it will remain with the Trados estate. 
  • Our support ticketing platform – this is not hosted in Canada, so please be advised that any information you add to the system will also leave Canada.  

We will continue building out our Canadian hosting location to bring it to full parity with our EU region. The end goal is to ensure no data leaves the region you have selected.
