I am a linguist with extensive experience in language documentation and fieldwork and a regional focus on indigenous languages in Africa and Latin America. My PhD in African Linguistics is from Humboldt-University of Berlin. I have worked on topics of information structure and on complex tone systems, among others. I’m interested in fundamental research aiming at theoretical progress based on functional and typological insights in less-familiar languages and I also enjoy applying the results for methodological and educational purposes. Currently I’m working as an independent researcher on publications about the Secoya, Amazonian Kichwa, and Buli (Gur) languages.
