Adobe InDesign translation previews now available in the online editor

We're thrilled to announce our new Adobe InDesign Preview add-on, available for our cloud offerings, Trados Team, Accelerate and Enterprise, which helps deliver an even smoother, faster translation experience for all linguists. 

View translations and make amends on the fly 

In a translation editing environment, linguists work with segments of text and often have to translate them without knowing how they will appear in the final document. This makes the translation process more complex, as the new translations could differ in length or format, depending on the language. Consequently, this can lead to translations that are contextually inaccurate, awkwardly placed or inconsistent in style – ultimately resulting in costly rework. 

But with our powerful Adobe InDesign Preview add-on, linguists can access a real-time preview of their IDML files in their final format through the online editor, helping them visualize what the finished translated text and design will look like. This helps them ensure from the get-go that the translations are appropriate and accurate within the specific context or layout. 

By being able to view the document as they translate, linguists can proactively address formatting issues like text overflow, alignment, and spacing, reducing the need for multiple rounds of revisions. The result? Higher translation quality, reduced project turnaround time, and greater client satisfaction.
